How it works

Start with the problem, not the technology

Mattingly Intelligence has three solutions and they are independent. Nothing here has to be bought in an order, and most businesses only ever need one of them.

The architecture

The problem sits in the middle

Every one of the three connects to the business problem. None of them connects to another, and none is a step towards another.

On its own

Each one has a complete shape of its own

Read across each row. Every flow starts with something you already have and ends in an outcome. None of them ends in another product.

HeyMi

  1. Approved information
  2. Private HeyMi environment
  3. Your people
  4. A better answer

Data Mi

  1. Source data
  2. Agreed rules
  3. Clean / map / transform
  4. Exceptions to a person
  5. Validated output

Mi

  1. Performance
  2. Watch
  3. Interpret
  4. Forecast
  5. Recommend
  6. Human decision
  7. Track

Together

Where combining them actually helps

They connect usefully, and none of this is a condition of buying any one of them.

  • Clean master data makes HeyMi’s answers about customers and products more reliable
  • Consistent classifications give Mi something it can compare period on period
  • A HeyMi question often reveals the data problem that Data Mi then fixes
  • Mi surfaces an issue, and somebody uses HeyMi to work through it

Worth being direct about

Plenty of businesses buy one of these and never buy another. That is a normal outcome, not a failed sale, and we would rather say so here than have you assume there is a bundle waiting at the end.

Getting started

Small first, and nothing runs until you have signed off the rules

The two available solutions start differently, because they are different work. Both start with one conversation.

HeyMi

01

One conversation

A senior operator, not a sales team. You describe the work. We say honestly whether this helps.

02

Connect what matters

We start with the handful of sources that answer your real questions, not everything you own.

03

A small group first

Five to ten people asking hard questions of it every day, for a few weeks.

04

Widen with controls

Roll out by team, with permissions set so people see what they are meant to see.

Data Mi

01

Profile what you have

We read the actual data and show you what is in it. This is usually the uncomfortable part.

02

Agree the rules

Every decision is written down and signed off by your people before anything runs.

03

Build and trial

The process runs on real data. You get an exceptions list, not a claim of success.

04

Hand it over

The process is documented and yours. It runs again next month without us.

Where we work

It reads differently in every sector

A margin question in waste is a different question from a margin question in manufacturing, because the cost that moves is different and so is what you can do about it.

Questions

Working it out

Start with the problem instead. If people need to work with company information, that is HeyMi. If the information underneath is unreliable or has to move systems, that is Data Mi. If reporting exists but management still cannot tell what needs attention, that is Mi. Most first conversations end up naming one of the three, and some name none of them.

No. They are independent solutions. Buying Data Mi does not commit you to HeyMi, and Mi does not require either. Use what you need and connect them where it adds value.

HeyMi is a tool your people use; it waits to be asked a question. Data Mi is work we do; it fixes the information itself and hands you back a process you can run again. Mi is a continuous read of performance; it decides what has moved, why it matters and what to do, and brings that to you without being asked. One of those descriptions usually lands immediately.

Yes. Clean, consistent data makes HeyMi’s answers better and gives Mi something reliable to interpret. That is a benefit of combining them, not a condition of using any one of them.

Still not sure?

That is the normal state, and it is what the first conversation is for. Describe the problem in your own words and somebody who has run a business like yours will tell you which of the three helps.

Talk to us

Talk to us

Tell us the problem. We’ll tell you which one helps

One conversation with a senior operator. If none of the three is the right answer for your business, that is what you will hear.
